SeaHorse Well that's awesome!! I wish the states that have Red Eared Sliders as native species would help out some of us northern places that are over run with RES rescues and have no where to release them. We have so many that we just don't know how to help. That would be such and easy solution wouldn't it??

Tallyollyopia They really are the same species, and yes, red-eared sliders are native to my area. Their population has been decimated by people stealing the eggs to sell in flea markets, like my little darlings came from, so my state even has a raise to release program. His pond is closer though, which means I can go and visit! :)

SeaHorse They look like 2 completely different species!! There is good and bad in doing this... yes it's wonderful for these guys to make their way in the wild but not sure they are native to your location or if it is legal to release them as they can become invasive. I guess it is good that it is a privately owned pond.
Having said all that, it was wonderful to actually watch a release into such an amazing place to live!! Thanks for sharing!

Well, the turtles (Yugioh specifically) were getting way too big for their tank, so I rehomed them with a family friend at a pond. I took a video of it and here's the hyperlink (unless I totally screwed up, which is possible).

Thanks to everyone for their support in helping me raise these turtles!
