found a turtle last fall and now she laid eggs???

IN Septemeber i found a box turtle that a dog dropped in the cemetary i was visting, i took it home and set up a 55 gallon tank with outdoor soil and plants and grass and adequte lighting. It is now feburary and she eats like crazy and loves to wade in a shallow dish of water ( more like her own private pool) yesterday i found an egg she burried half way in the tank soil ,i didnt disturb it , but i was wondering could the egg be fertile? i dont know anything about her before i rescued her from the dog. Will she lay more and should i leave them in the tank or make an incubator for it? she seems to be restless early evening but is calm in the morning and she eats very well. i even think she has grown. Anyways any help would be great.

It's fine. Leave the egg if possible. If you really want to move it, just place an X on top of the egg and move it exactly as it was buried to rebury it. Placing it sideways or upside down can cause it to go bad.

Give it a couple of months to see if the egg will hatch. If not I assume it's safe to dispose. I don't know how long box turtles stay fertile but I know RES turtles can stay fertile for up to 3 years after having contact with a male.
