Okay, so yesterday morning I was feeding my turtles (I was trying something new) in their big tank (I think they're claustrophobic) to see if I could get them to eat. (My two turtles are Sakura and Yugioh.) Now, Sakura had been eating for a couple of days, but I was really getting worried about Yugioh, because he wasn't. Yesterday morning Sakura took one of the high-protein (they had better be) baby turtle pellets that Petsmart sold me, held it underwater until it got soft, held the softened pellet in her mouth gently, and pushed it against Yugioh's mouth until he opened it. Then, once he opened it, she let go! She fed him! I've never heard of anything like it! I mean--WOW!
Has anyone else ever heard of something like this happening?
He's doing pretty good. He wasn't eating, but Sakura has kind of been bullying him into it. If he misses too many feedings (I feed them four to five times a day, really small helpings) she'll push him under the food and nip his tail until he eats. I don't know why he keeps not eating, but she's taking care of the problem. :)
