Default what and how often to feed?? (box turtle)

We recently aquired a 20 year old male box turtle that we named Max. The kid who owned him before us said that he fed him DOG FOOD and only once a week. Since I have had him I have fed him a variety of garden greens, and his favorite thus far mandrian oranges and for the first time today live meal worms. I have fed him once a day every day.
How often and how much each time SHOULD I be feeding him?

One good size meal a day is enough u dont want to over feed him. Veggies is ok tho ive herd spinach isnt good for turtles and lettuce has no nutrition so i would stay away from those. I know its goo to mix up there diet so they get to like a variety of foods and they can get different vitamins and minerals from all the different foods. Never feed turtles cat or dog food im not sure whats in cat or dog food but its not made for turtles so I definatly would not feed him that.

It is fine to feed turtles different types of cat/dog food. Especially the "hydrating" kind. If you look up caresheets you should find cat/dog food listed ;P

Lettuce is essential in hydration! The only type of lettuce that is found to be non-nutritious is "ice berg lettuce" so don't bother feeding your turtle that ^^. Romaine lettuce and other red-leafy veggies are great for your turtle.

If you know the type of turtle you have google it's species and "care sheet" and you should have your proper answer from there.

I fed my turtle romaine lettuce, apples (in moderation) and he LOVED earth worms (for protein).

I agree, NO MORE DOG/CAT FOOD! Lettuce is imporant, they get water from it. Some veggies are great as a treat but I also feed pellets for vitamins and minerals.
