Smile Painting of Turtles

I painted these turtles before I even owned one. Just liked the whimsy of the colours and motion. I think I might do a new painting of the ones that I have. They are fabulous RES one 8 inches and her mate 6 inches....love them!

Why in heck would you paint a turtle? Thats really messed up right there. You know the chemicals in any kind of paint will slowly harm the turtle eventually killing it off? Even if the turtle seems fine at the moment it really isnt. Turtles are good at hiding illness. When they do show their sick, chances are their chances of survival are slim. Please dont go painting a turtles shell or body. It really harms them. :/

Thats messed up. YOu shouldnt ever paint a turtles body or shell. It will harm the turtle and will kill it. Turtles are beautiful in their own way.

I think if you go back and re-read what she wrote she said did paintings of turtles before she even owned one. Meaning, she did a drawing on paper or canvas. When she talked about doing a new painting of her current turtles she meant she would draw them, not paint on them. The woman is an artist. She talks about doing a new painting of the ones she now has. Also, considering this thread is ancient I doubt she's been around lately, I think I'm pretty safe in saying she isn't painting on their shells.
