Default No more she turts.

My turtles arn't shy anymore, and they know when it's feeding time. They jump off their basking spot and swim as fast as they can to the front of the tank, totally ignoring the Guppies swimming right in front of them. They sure like them dried prawns/shrimp.

Oh how cute are they!
Most of my turtles are box turtles, & they are allowed to roam our apartment for quite a bit as they hate to be confined- their habitats have ramps so they can climb in & out at will. Very smart little buggers, they learned early on not only who usually feeds them, but where I keep the food, & that WE eat at the table- they seem to think that whenever we are eating that they should be as well, & they will come line up near the table & stare at us as we eat! If that doesn't get my attention, then before I know it I will have a turtle nipping at my toes just to get the point accross! They are hilarious, each with their own personality quirks. Easily the most fun pets I've ever had, though I believe they think I'm the pet!

Smile Dear Turtlemama:

That is so cute that you keep your turtles as free roaming pets in your home.

I have an aquatic RES turtle that has a water box indoor pool with a ramp for roaming the apartment. She knows I keep food in the refrigerator, so she goes there to scratch on the door to let me know she wants something good, like a shrimp!

Default Dear Marc Davis:

Why no more she turts? Just curious, because I have a female RES turtle and she can be high maintenance in the summer months when she's looking to lay her eggs.
