You mean Herpetologists. I think you should do a lot more research. You will need a tank bigger then 50 gals as stated previously. Do a search on all these turtles, you want to find out more about them and their requirements. The rule of thumb is 10 gal of WATER per inch of turtle shell for ONE turtle. Hope that helps. Yes the snapper should be kept alone - research will help you in the long run.

Research is good....

IMHO that's just too many turtles to care for unless your taking your studies/research to heart. Just make sure if you're gonna do it: do it right.

I agree this is a lot of turtles to take on.

If you are going to mix, the RES work well with other sliders and painteds. I've mixed these before and they are best buddies!

That is defenitely not a good idea. I hope you already have atleast 150gallons for the two sliders. But let me point you with your flaw on this plan:
1)Snappers=Huge(18-23inches), aggressive and will NEVER EVER tame down, needs bare minimum of 300gs, needs a large diet of some mammals, fish, frogs, crustaceans, etc. They are strictly solitary, when they are adults dont expect it not to eat your other turtles.
2)Muds, musks with turtles that are 4x larger than them MAY not do well. They do better with maps.
3)Map turtles=NEED and I cannot stress this enough THEY REQUIRE PRISTINE clear water! They are overly sensitive to water quality. Or they will get sick very quickly, and die.

Sliders could do well with the following turtles if you have a large 500g+ pond:
-Painted Turtles
-Cooters

Thats pretty much it. I have had a few RES myself, they are dirty as heck. I now keep texas map turtle and she isnt even as messy as my res used to be. Her tank is pristine clear. His tank would get dirty in less than a month even in a large tank with strong filters. Trust me if I were you I would stick to one to two turtles for the moment.

Oh and if you already dont have the required tank for the sliders, I wouldnt consider getting more. Just stick to what you have and get a bigger tank.

Dont mix turtles from different regions! American turtles should stay with american turtles. Asian turtles with asian turtles. Etc.
